Job Description
Commercial Controller - Contract
Location: Buckinghamshire
Salary: Dependant on Experience
The Commercial Controller will be part of the Commercial Department, which provides support to all of the other areas of the business. They will work closely with other Commercial staff and with Finance, Projects and Sales/Marketing and shall be solely responsible for the commercial aspects of various contracts.
The Commercial Controller is responsible for the following activities:-
* Through life management of the commercial/contractual aspects of specific design, supply and support enquiries (bids & quotations) and projects (including pre-bid, bid/proposal, contract review and post contract award stages) through; generation of agreements; negotiation, drafting and amendment of contractual terms and conditions to ensure commercial, contractual and legal compliance; completion and submission of statements of compliance, quotations, bids, proposals, claims, invoices and other related commercial items.
* Generation of pricing sheets, back up financial sign-off paperwork and quotations for enquiries and projects using information supplied by project teams and cost estimators.
* To evaluate, mitigate and minimise the company\'s risk and liabilities in dealings with customers and suppliers through assessing commercial and contractual risks
* To ensure all work carried out meets and is covered by UK and other (eg ITAR) licensing requirements and that others involved in the projects are aware of and adhere to the appropriate licensing requirements. Raising import and export licences and other similar or associated paperwork as required, and ensuring others raise and submit it correctly when required to do so.
* To act as the formal commercial interface with customers and suppliers.
* To assist Project Management and Purchasing in the management and administration of sub-contracts whilst retaining responsibility for ensuring sub-contract terms are aligned to head contract terms and that any changes to sub-contract terms are agreeable.
Key Requirements of the Commercial Controller:
Law or Business Degree. International Export Control & licensing Training covering UK & US regulations would be highly desirable
In depth experience in a Commercial/Contracts or similar role
Experience in similar industries employing design, manufacturing, product and/or service delivery, eg Defence, Aerospace, Communications, Manufacturing, Engineering/Design, Utilities, etc.
Experience of Contract management including preparing bids and proposals, generating contracts and sub-contracts and contract negotiation with customers and suppliers.
IT literate to an intermediate level in MS Office and relevant business management packages.
